21 Day Fix Extreme Review

Here’s my review of 21 Day Fix Extreme, which I concluded a few weeks ago. It’s also the follow-up to the 21 Day Fix program, both from Beachbody.

21 Day Fix Extreme combines portion control, clean eating, and intensive workouts to deliver the kind of body that’s competition-ready.

21 Day Fix Extreme is ideal for a short-term weight loss goal or to build a tougher workout regimen.

It’s a straightforward workout program that gets you going 30 minutes every day of the week and encourages you to lose weight without counting calories.

What is 21 Day Fix Extreme?

21 Day Fix Extreme aka 21DFX is a workout program from Beachbody. It was created by Autumn Calabrese in 2015.

The program is focused on getting you results that are similar to competition results and making you look seriously shredded.

It’s also the next step program after the less intense 21 Day Fix.

My 21 Day Fix Extreme DVDs

What I Loved About 21 Day Fix Extreme

  • Like 21 Day Fix, the workouts are short and to the point. 30 – 35 minutes on all days. There is no excuse to get out of it because I’m in a rush.
  • Autumn throws in a lot of motivational quotes that keep you going throughout all the workouts. I’m compiling most of them together and will upload a separate post later on with these quotes.
  • There is a modifier for the times I’m ready to pass out and I really appreciate that. 21 Day Fix Extreme workouts work on multiple muscle groups at a time. This delivers even better results and just as much pain. Lol.
  • I loved all the trainers in this program. They were all lively and funny especially Cherise and Cupcake.
  • A lot of people don’t like pilates but I enjoyed the pilates parts of 21 Day Fix Extreme tremendously.

For 21 Day Fix Extreme, you need the following equipment:-

I ordered a super cool personalized yoga mat from Etsy HERE.

I personalized it with my nickname and embroidered it in my favorite color. Really loving it!

2 sets of weights

Though the program called for 1 light and 1 heavy set of weights, I used 8, 10, and 12 lb dumbbells.

If I found the 10lb too easy, I would switch up to the heavier weights.

You want a durable resistance band that won’t snap and hit you in the face when you pull on it. 

Knee Support

Though not included in the list, I highly recommend knee support because some of those workouts are tough on the knees.

21 Day Fix Extreme Meal Plan

21 Day Fix Extreme comes with a meal plan similar to 21 Day Fix. However, there are more restrictions.

Nevertheless, I was still able to fit the things I love eating into my diet. I share some of my meals at My Favorite Recipes.

My daily calorie limit on 21 Day Fix Extreme was 1,400 – 1,500 calories.

The 21 Day Fix Extreme pack comes with portion control containers for each category of meals.

I also find planning out your meals 2 – 3 weeks in advance will help you stick to your diet.

If you’re not too picky, you can also buy used DVDs on eBay.

What Next?

For the moment, I’m repeating 21 Day Fix Extreme with the intense workouts all through. I’m trying out something.

After I’m done with this, I will begin Shaun T’s Focus T25. As usual, I will upload weekly reviews when I commence that program.

Does 21 Day Fix Extreme Work?

If you follow the meal plan and stick to the workouts, I promise you they will work and you will have a great sculpted body in record time.

To keep to your results, always have another workout program ready to go when you finish one program.

Does 21 Day Fix Extreme Have a Modifier?

Yes, it does and her name is Cherise. Every time I feel like I’m moving closer to the light, I quickly switch over to the modifier.

And she makes it look so easy too!

Can You Do 21 Day Fix Extreme Without Resistance Bands?

That will not be possible as most of the workouts use a resistance band. Pilates Fix Extreme is all about a resistance band.

Even in some cases, when you’re following Cherise, you will still need a resistance band.

If you don’t want to use a resistance band, it might be better to find a more suitable workout program.

Which 21 Day Fix Workout Burns the Most Calories?

For me, I can tell when a workout is chomping through my calories by how hungry I am by dinner.

For 21 Day Fix Extreme, those workouts were Power Fix Extreme and Cardio Fix Extreme. 

The calories burned are dependent on you, how much you stick to the workout, your body weight and height, weights used, intensity utilized, etc.

It’s different for everybody. That’s why it’s hard to say one specific program burns the most calories.

The easiest workout for me in 21 Day Fix Extreme was ABC Extreme.

Is 21 Day Fix Extreme Good for Weight Loss?

If a program isn’t going to deliver on sculpting me, I do not take it up at all so I research thoroughly before I start any workout program.

This is my second time going through 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme and that’s because it delivers results.

As long as you stick to the workouts and control your meals, you will see results. Results will of course vary from person to person.
