Ripped in 30 is a 30-day exercise plan from one of my favorite trainers, Jillian Michaels.
The Ripped in 30 program is based on Jillian’s 3-2-1 interval system – 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs.
There’s one new workout with 3 circuits every week as well as a warm-up and warm-down session. Each week progresses in difficulty level.

The video contains Jillian and 2 trainers – Basheerah and Shelley. Shelley does the modifications while Basheerah takes it up another notch.
You will require 1 set of light weights and 1 set of heavy weights plus a mat for Ripped in 30.
I also use knee braces because the cardio exercises are really high impact and I’m always conscious of knee injuries.
Most of the exercises in Ripped in 30 are not that tough individually but when combined together, you get a helluva muscle kicking.
Nevertheless, there’s somebody modifying moves in the video you can follow if things get too hard for you.
Ripped in 30 exercises work the entire body every day and force you to discover muscles you didn’t know were there.
After the first two weeks, your body will start to adapt to the level of intensity and help you get through the workouts without feeling like you’re going to pass out.
Is Ripped in 30 a HIIT Workout?
Yes, the Ripped in 30 program is a HIIT workout. HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) workouts are one of the fastest ways to get in shape.
Who is This Workout For?
Ripped in 30 is ideal for beginners and moderate exercisers. If things get too much, you can follow the modifier, Shelley.
If you’re a fitness veteran, you might not find weeks 1 and 2 so challenging.
However, if you’ve not worked out in a while, Ripped in 30 is a good prep program before jumping into the hardcore stuff again.
If you hate working out for a long time, Ripped in 30 is perfect for you with each workout only around 30 minutes.
Overall, Ripped in 30 is a fantastic workout program that really makes each of the 30 minute count.
If you don’t like doing the same exercises every day of the week, you might not like it so much.
How Much Weight Did I Lose With Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30?
There was a significant lag between completing week 3 and week 4 but nevertheless, I lost 2 kg (4.5 lbs approx.)
However, my aim wasn’t to lose weight but toning my body and preparing for the much tougher workout program to follow.
Ripped in 30 Meal Plan
Ripped in 30 comes with a detailed meal plan with lots of versatility including vegan and vegetarian recipes.
The meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner (400 calories approx.) and snacks (200 calories approx.)
You can easily mix and match the breakfast, lunch, and dinner items if you want some change.
I hardly follow the meal plans with workout programs because they’re either too complicated or use ingredients I don’t like aka super picky eater.
However, I have a very set diet I follow, which doesn’t exceed the number of calories I should be consuming every day.

If you are the kind of person who finds it hard to stick to healthy foods in moderate amounts then the Ripped in 30 meal plan is better for you.
